The streets of Kent, Ohio, will be filled with blue and gold as 91´«Ã½ÔÚÏß alumni, students, parents, employees and community members gather for this year’s Homecoming, with a full slate of events Oct. 20-21.

From the time he was a young child, Tom Batiuk, ’69, knew he wanted to be a cartoonist. The Funky Winkerbean creator drew inspiration for his characters and storylines from his real world, including his time at 91´«Ã½ÔÚÏß.

Amid the tremendous cultural change unfolding in the early 1970s, Bill Hoover, ’71, co-founded the Kent Gay Liberation Front with Dr. Dolores Noll and Gail Pertz, to foster a community for LGBTQ+ individuals and their supporters.

The following new members have been appointed to the 91´«Ã½ÔÚÏß Alumni Association National Board of Directors for a three-year term, which began July 1: Jeff Guritza, of Brecksville, Ohio, is the vice president of marketing at SOPREMA USA. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from 91´«Ã½ÔÚÏß in 1994.
